This season, the enduro series has 19 voting members on the committee. 50% of the voting members are needed for a quorum. A quorum was present with 11 voting members.

Don King, our scorekeeper, started discussion about the new procedure we use to inform riders that they have entered the wrong class in the beginning of the enduro season. The procedure Dan George began this season, is a disqualification letter to the rider. In the past, we called the rider to inform them of their mistake and gave them the opportunity to move their points to the appropriate class. This offer was extended to the rider only one time after entering their first event of the season. This call resulted in the rider understanding the severity of the situation before DQ’s were made. Some members of the committee wanted to go back to the “contact the rider” approach to the problem and only give DQ’s if the rider refused to move from the wrong class. Some members of the committee believed that DQ is a harsh way to get the message across and sends a bad vibe about the series in general.

After Dan explained his reasons for the DQ procedure, it was decided that the new DQ procedure would remain in place. The point was made that it is ultimately the rider’s responsibility to know what class to enter. The measure passed 11-0 when brought to a vote to keep the new procedure in place.

Wes Mottram, sent a letter to the committee and asked not to be promoted to the B class this season. After a review of last season’s points, it was decided that Wes belongs in the B class for the time being. Also, it was pointed out that Wes can formally petition the committee after he enters 3 events this season.

Greg Luther asked to remain in the Super Senior B class. After a review of last season’s scores, it was decided that Greg should ride in the Super Senior B class and that it had been some sort of misunderstanding about his promotion.

Lee Daly presented 2 rule changes that affect work run credits:

Proposed rule change#1
Chapter VD3 (pg.24)

Change: “The maximum points that can be awarded to any individual are 100 points
(must work a minimum of four days). Individuals who work at least one day but less than four days will be awarded 35 points.”

To: “Individuals will earn 25 points per day worked, up to a maximum of 100 points”.

Allen Pearce moved to accept, Don King seconded
Motion passed 10-1

Proposed rule change#2
Chapter VD3 (pg.24)

Change: “An individual can receive work points for only one event per competition year”.

To: “An individual can receive work points for only one club promoted event per competition year”.

Allen Pearce moved to accept, Dan George seconded
Motion passed 9-2

Last season, the committee agreed to pursue getting a Mini Enduro series started within FTR and adding it to the rulebook as a guide for our clubs to follow. It is meant to be vague in nature so that clubs can build the idea into a functioning FTR series in the future.

This proposal is an addition to the rulebook in reference to beginning a mini enduro series. Ideas were discussed till our committee came up with this finished proposal. I formally made the proposal.

Under Chapter IV Enduro rules
Create “F” Mini Enduro Series

1) A Mini Enduro can be held at either an Enduro or a Hare Scramble event on the Saturday before the main event.

2) The series is to be promoted by FTR clubs on a voluntary basis.

3) Mini Enduro classes and trophies are to be determined by the voluntary clubs holding the event. It is recommended that every participant receive an award of some type. The following classes are to be used as a guide:

Jr A & B
Mini A & B
Pee Wee A & B

4) At this time, the Mini Enduro series is not a part of an FTR championship points paying year end series and is not an FTR sanctioned event.

Motion to accept, Allen Pearce, seconded Tom Miller
Motion passed unanimous

Motion to adjourn, seconded

Respectfully submitted,
Sam Mento,
Enduro Chairman
