Executive Committee Meeting Minutes5/19/07A meeting of the Florida Trail Riders Executive Committee was called to order on May 19, 2007 at the Imperial Swan Hotel. The president determined a quorum was present. Roll call was as follows:Present: Absent: I. Old BusinessNone. II. New BusinessCarl Monroe, President of Treasure Coast Trail Riders, addressed the committee. At their recent event, several issues arose between the club and FTR officials that concerned the committee. Carl addressed the committee’s concerns about these issues. He presented his plans to ensure that these issues would not be repeated in the future. Joe Steidl moved to place the club on probation for 1 year. The club will be allowed to apply for a sanction for the upcoming race season. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Allen Pearce recommends the Hare Scramble committee get a list from each club with the names of the club officials prior to the event to help alleviate future problems. Dave Hall introduced Kevin Carr to the committee. Kevin has agreed to step into the Motocross Chairman position for the upcoming race season. Dave Hall moved that the committee approve Kevin Carr as the Motocross Chairman effective with the new race season. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Joe Steidl presented an emergency rule change as approved by the Hare Scramble Competition Committee: Chapter VI, section A, make items 2-14 into 3-15, and add a new item 2. It will state " In Hare Scrambles there shall be two additional officers. A) The Rider Safety Coordinator, whose duty is to advise the Hare Scrambles Referee on matters of rider safety. B) The Associate Hare Scrambles Referee, who will be the primary assistant to the Hare Scrambles Referee. The Associate Referee's primary duties will involve pit safety and tech/sound inspection. The Associate Referee will coordinate with the Clubs regarding providing personnel for these functions, and will supervise these functions at the events. The Associate Referee has the authority to disqualify riders. Final authority on disqualification remains with the Hare Scrambles Referee. If the Hare Scrambles Referee can not be present at the event, then the Associate Referee will serve as acting Hare Scrambles Referee." Also, Chapter VI C7 reads in part ..of the following 3 people...c) ...(FTR Referee), change to: ...by a majority vote of any 3 of the four following people..." and add" d) Associate Referee." Allen Pearce moved to accept and was seconded. The motion passed. Joe Steidl moved that the committee approve Donny Richardson for the Rider Safety Coordinator and Scott West as the Associate Referee. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Randy Faul moved that CFTR be refunded the sanction fee from their cancelled Richloam Enduro. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Dan George presented the committee with information about purchasing new computers for the Sign-up Trailer. Allen Pearce moved that we approve $5,800 for the purchase of the new computers and that the old computers will be given to the Motocross Series. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Allen Pearce moved that we allow CQTR and SQRA to transfer there sanction fees from the 06/07 season to the 07/08 season. Both clubs lost there land due to unforeseeable land issues. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Dan George presented information about a Key Management Life Insurance policy with FTR as the beneficiary. Allen Pearce moved to pay the premium of $977/year. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned. Tiffany St. John |
