Motocross Committee MeetingDecember 1, 2007The 2nd FTR MX Committee Meeting was held at Waldo MX Track on December 1, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Kevin Carr called the meeting to order and called for an attendance. In attendance were committee members: Kevin Carr, Don Redfern, Jeff Folmar, Bryant Coker, John Collins, Ken Doeg, Jeff Hazeltine. Member Jack Kirchner was absent. Old Business:Kevin Carr advised that there were two proposed rule proposals that were to be considered. He further advised that a final vote on the proposals would be made at the next meeting as the proposals were published in the December FTR Magazine which members were just receiving. He then reviewed the proposals Proposal #1 is to adjust the ages of the 65 classes to correspond to the hare scramble ages to allow hare scramblers to also participate in mx. Proposal #2 is to remove the language allowing the peewee parents on the track during competition. Both proposals will be considered at the next meeting. New Business:Member Keith Ober had petition the committee to be demoted to the 35 No Jump class from the plus 40 class. A review of his past races and overall were also presented. After discussion a motion was made to allow Keith Ober to step down to a lower class motion passed 6-0 (Bryant Coker did not vote) Member Bryant Coker had petition to be allowed to ride in the 250 C class even though he is an A rider in Quads. A review of his past races in the 250 C class and overall were also presented. After discussion Ken Doeg made a motion to allow the petition with no points transferred. John Collins 2nd, motion passed 6-0 (Bryant Coker did not vote). Kevin advised that there has been a miss print in the rule that was meant to allow the Honda 150 four stroke. After discussion John Collins made a motion that an Emergency Rule be made to correct the situation as rider safety is at issue. Don Redfern advised that due to the power that a 105 motor has, found that it was too dangerous for a 7 year old to ride. Kevin Carr 2nd. Motion passed 7-0. Member Ken Doeg made a motion that the name of the 35 no jump class be changed to 35 Limited Jump to correctly identify the class and to encourage more crossover from hare scramble and endures. Bryant Coker 2nd motion and floor was open for discussion. After discussion John Collins made a motion to call for a vote. Bryant Coker 2nd. Vote 1-5 Motion failed (Ken Doeg did not vote). Member Carol Parsons made a proposal to add a Women’s Vet class to the MX. The proposal reads. Current General Rules

Member Garrett Whatley asked if he could make a statement regarding FTR. Statement was positive regarding his families relationship to FTR. Bryant Coker made a motion to adjourn, Donny Redfern 2nd.
