MX Committee Meeting4/12/08The 4th FTR MX Committee Meeting was held at Bartow MX on April 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Kevin Carr called the meeting to order and called for an attendance. In attendance were committee members: Kevin Carr, Don Redfern, Ken Doeg, Jeff Hazeltine, Sandy Moss. Member Jack Kirchner, John Collins and Bryant Coker were absent. Old Business:Kevin advised that there were two motions that required a second consideration at this meeting that had been published in the magazine. The first was the Big wheel bike. The proposal was: General Rules Chapter III D. Rider Classification Motion passed unanimously General Rules Chapter III D Rider Classification Motion passed unanimously New BusinessKevin advised committee members of a situation that arose at Pax Track following the race regarding the trophies. He advised committee members that the owners of Pax had indicated that in the future no courtesies would be extended to FTR MX Team or FTR BOD regarding gate fees. This brought a round of safety issue concerns by attending committee members and attendees. Complaints included that the announcer was having to ask for water for the flaggers, there were not enough flaggers on the back section and that they were not always paying attention. There was no break between motos, even though FTR requested on. Scoring ladies were asking for a bathroom break every time an FTR official would walk by. There was a starting gate that was broken but no attempt was made to block the use of the gate. Kevin asked current committee members of their intent to return next season. Don Redfern advised that he would have to step down. Ken Doeg stepped forward to fill the position of Referee. Jeff Hazeltine and Sandy Moss both indicated that they would continue to fill their positions. Don Redfern, Jeff Folmar, and Carol Preston indicated that they would assist where necessary. Attending FTR Members Comments:Carol Preston made the comment that she had notice the decrease in pit riding and hoped that it would continue in the future. Mark Gagnon made a comment that he would like to see more course workers pay attention he mentioned that he had seen some of the flaggers with ipods. Ken Doeg made a comment that he would like to see a true beginner class that would allow someone under 35 who does not want to jump race in a class. Jeff Hazeltine made a motion to adjourn Kevin seconded. Riders Meeting Sunday April 18, 2008As previously announced, the names of the races from Waldo to Bartow were placed in a hat. Peewee rider Logan drew Waldo MX as the first double points race. |
