Meeting Minutes for the QS Competition Committee

Old Business

Proposals

A proposal was previously passed to move the Master Quad Class from the 3:30 race, to the 1:30 race, to be run on the same line with the Women A class. The proposal was voted on again as printed in the Feb. magazine, and passed unanimously.

A proposal was previously passed to Add an Auto Sport class to the QS. This would be a class for automatic Quads without racks, the class is 0-Open cc’s. The proposal was voted on again as printed in the Feb. magazine, and passed 12 in favor, one abstained.

A proposal to change the Golden Girls Quad class in the QS to Women Vet and change the age from 40+ to 35+ was voted on for the second time as published in the Feb. magazine and passed unanimously.

A fourth proposal was voted on for the second time to increase the Utility 0-400 class to 0-500 cc’s. The proposal was printed in the February magazine, and passed unanimously.

New Business

The Committee reviewed a petition by the parent of Gianni Cibella who was DQ’d at the previous QS for cutting the course. Several of the officers that were at the said QS were present at the meeting, and the details were discussed. The Committee voted unanimously to uphold the disqualification as given.

A proposal that had been presented at the previous HS was discussed which involved running the HS, and the QS on the same weekend. The proposal was tabled, but would be revisited at the next HS meeting. In the event that this proposal should be accepted by the HS committee, it would require some modifications on the part of the QS committee for it to be complete. If the proposal were to be accepted, the following two Emergency rule changes would be presented to the BOD for approval.

Both of the following 2 proposals were voted on by a 2/3 majority vote of the total QS Committee, and were accepted unanimously.

Rule change #1

Pg 39, Chapter XV Quad Scrambles Responsibilities, E. Sanctions

Add to the end of the first sentence: or Hare Scrambles. Delete from the second sentence: Hare Scrambles or Paragraph would now read: An FTR Sanctioned Quad Scrambles may be scheduled on the same date as an Enduro or Hare Scrambles. An FTR Sanctioned Quad Scrambles may not be scheduled on the same date as an FTR Sanctioned Motocross.

Rule change #2

Pg 37, Chapter XIV Quad Scrambles Scoring, B. Championship Series Points System, 3.

Delete from the beginning of the fourth sentence: Saturday, Race 4 riders

Add to the beginning of the fourth sentence: Saturday races, unless otherwise specified in this section,

Paragraph would now read: 3. Each class will be allotted a maximum time to complete the course and be timed. In Peewee A and B the course will be closed to start additional laps 15 minutes after the start. In Mini 51-70cc (Super Peewee) the course will be closed to start additional laps 20 minutes after the start.

Saturday races, unless otherwise specified in this section, will have the course closed to start additional laps 90 minutes after the first row leaves the start minus the time of the lead riders first lap. All other races will have the course closed to start additional laps at 2 hours after the first row leaves the start minus the time of the lead riders first lap.

**The proposal in which these rule changes were significant were not passed by the HS committee, and therefore not forwarded to the BOD.

2008 Sanction meeting

One sanction request was submitted to the QS Committee by SADRA for the date of September 20th. The Committee voted unanimously to accept their sanction request under the condition that 4 more clubs step up to host a QS.

The meeting adjourned at 8:24pm.
