Motocross Committee Meeting Minutes

March 21, 2009

Kevin Carr called the third meeting of the MX committee to order at 6:30 pm on Saturday March 21, 2009 at Amp Extreme.

Kevin Carr, Ken Doeg, Sandy Moss, Dwaye Springer, Carol Preston were present. Jeff Hazeltine was absent. (Note: Scorekeeper Jack Kirchner has resigned his position due to personal reasons) Also present was BOD member Ragen Dickson.

Kevin Carr read the minutes from the last meeting. Minutes were approved by all in attendance.

Old Business:

A proposal to change the announcement of the floating double point race was published in the September 2008 magazine but the committee still needed to address it. After discussion Sandy Moss called for a vote and Carol Preston seconded. Motion passed five for none against.

A proposal to define the A, B, C, classes was published in the February 2009 magazine. The proposal was brought back for discussion. Ken Doeg made a motion to call for a vote. Carol Preston seconded. Motion failed four to one.

A proposal to add a no-jump expert and novice class was published in the February 2009 magazine. This proposal was brought back for discussion. Sandy Moss made a motion to call for a vote. Ken Doeg seconded. Motion passed five for none against.

A proposal to lower advancement points and counting each riders personal 10 events towards advancement was published in the February 2009 magazine. This proposal was brought back for discussion. Ken Doeg made a motion to call for a vote Sandy Moss 2nd. Motion passed five for none against.

New Business:

A proposal was submitted for consideration of the committee.

Chapter X, B, 3.
Change:

The FTR Motocross Championship Series will consist of 2 Double Points events. One to be the final round and one to be TBA (to be announced) at the Rider’s Meeting at the event that the Double Ponts are to be awarded.

To:

The last scheduled race of the season will be a Double Points event. In addition, each rider will be awarded five points for each race in which a rider participates as long as one gate start was completed. Participation points will be added to the year end calculations even if competition points are dropped.

Carol Preston made a motion to accept the proposal and Dwayne Springer seconded. The proposal was deemed worthy of membership consideration. If this proposal passes membership it would replace the current wording regarding the double points.
