A message from the Prez
At the risk of inviting another flurry of e-mails and posts to the forum, I will try to inform those who may be wondering why the River City Dirt Riders will not be granted their FTR Race sanctions for this  season .
For the last few years at the Richloam Enduro, the Annual FTR Sanction Meeting has taken place.  The way things normally work is, the established FTR Clubs and New Clubs wanting to be considered for an FTR Race date give the Business Manager ( Dan George ) a check for the required sanction fee .  This fee that is collected does not guarantee that every Sanction applied for will be always granted every time!
After all the people involved mix, match and jumble around perspective event dates, we usually come up with a tentative event calendar for the next year. Somewhere along the line, for whatever reason, the RCDR Club had some problems and, according to reliable sources, a group of well trained, seasoned, experienced club veterans left the RCDR Club.
Hearing of this, the FTR Executive Committee felt that, for the good of the FTR and holding what is in the best interest of the FTR, RCDR should be questioned about their capacity and ability to put on a quality event, in all aspects that is expected by the FTR.  At the Stateline Hare Scrambles, Harry Masters, the RCDR Club President, was asked to supply a list of their riders in respect to their qualifications to put on an FTR Event.   What was then sent to the Executive Committee,  from their Club Attorney, was a list of people which was considered to be only a list of club riders.   Again, Harry Masters was asked to supply lists of their 5 best and 5 most experienced club members that were going to be in charge of every and all aspects of putting on an FTR Enduro and an FTR Hare Scrambles, and to make the lists specific to denote which persons would be responsible for the  Enduro and the Hare Scrambles.
The FTR Executive Committee evaluated both lists separately and concluded that the persons on the lists provided were not adequately qualified to put on either an FTR Enduro or an FTR Hare Scrambles. Thus, the reason for not granting the FTR Sanctions.
The FTR Business Manager was to refund their sanction money for both events in question.
Since this all took place, the former members of RCDR who were experienced riders and trail layout people, have formed another club, called FAST. They  have submitted their membership list and qualifications and, we expect, they will be applying for race sanctions to take the place of the RCDR events that have been taken off the schedule.
