OFFICE OF GREENWAYS & TRAILS FUNDING ALERT

This is the one everybody has been waiting for. We are anxious to fund quality motorized recreational trail projects. The application and administrative rule are included in this e-mail. Both are in Acrobat file format. The application includes live fields which allows you to complete the application on your computer. Please read the accompanying file explaining how to use live the field format.

The Statewide Greenways & Trails Plan and the 2002 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan are available on our website in (very large) Acrobat files. You will need to refer to these documents as you complete your application.

As you will note in the announcement below, all of the above mentioned files may be accessed through our website at www.floridagreenwaysandtrails.com . Hard copies of all materials and reports are available upon request.

The next submission cycle to include diverse use, non-motorized use, and motorized use will be after completion of the upcoming administrative rule revision process. Hopefully this will occur sometime during fall of 2003. We thank you for your patience. For those anxious to fund non-motorized and diverse use projects, I suggest contacting the Bureau of Design and Recreation Services [850-488-7896 or terri.messler@dep.state.fl.us  ]to learn of their upcoming submission cycles for the Land & Water Conservation Fund and the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program.

In addition, other potential funding sources may be found in the OGT Grant Resource Inventory previously sent to all. Should you desire a copy of this Excel file, just let me know.
