Discussion was heard on the issue that the AMA mileage accuracy rule of
.02 of a mile is not a workable standard for FTR clubs or riders.
The following is a proposal by David Tharp with a second by Jack Terrell.
Add to the Rulebook:
Chapter 4, section E, line 7
(Begin the Line)
The standard variation for mileage accuracy is no more than .05 of a mile as measured from
the last known mileage posted on a mile marker and on the route sheet.

The Enduro Committee has approved another 2001 Series committee meeting to
be held at the FTR banquet for the purpose of ratifying the proceeding proposal for
submitting of final approval before next season. |
3) |
Rider Ryan Crist requested further review of his protest of check mileage
4 & 8 at the BSTR Eagles Nest Enduro. The FTR Enduro Committee representatives
consisting of; Chairman- Lane Sheppard, Referee- David Tharp, Scorekeeper- Sam Mento, and
A Rep- Lee Daley had already reviewed the protest during the two week protest period and
had concluded that nothing could be further ruled on because the club had called an
illegal vote to accept the Enduro and it's mileage in the protest period. In addition, at
the time of request for more assistance from the FTR Enduro Chairman, Mr. Crist had said
he would not go the check as preferred by AMA rules. The Enduro Committee has ruled that
BSTR shall be fined $100 and should write an apology to FTR and Ryan Crist for actions
taken in disregard to the FTR rules. |
4) |
Discussion on clubs responsibility for riders on the course was heard. It
is recommended that clubs at least send a sweep rider out on the course after the last
rider leaves for competition to assist with location of an injured rider or equipment
failures. |
