What's Hot

Fort Bassinger being the first race of a new year, a lot of new riders came out making the C classes even bigger than they already were. 42 riders in Vet C, most of them passing me (a row ahead) by the 2 mile marker, 34 in Senior C, and 30 in Super Senior C. Saturday there were 37 riders in Mini C and 41 in Beginner 2. Fortunately, if you didn't get a good start, you had enough time on the motocross track to make up for it.

Joey Baker was flyin' in the B200 class and finished his 5 laps in the allotted time period while 2nd place rider David Shade only finished 4. That's impressive. ..

Emmett Cox was rippin in the Golden Master class finishing 5 laps in an hour and half. This man can run with those guys in AA and he's twice their age!

In Women B Casey Campbell won by almost 7 minutes to Kelsey O'Donnell AND she rode Saturday in Mini B and finished 4th. Those boys better watch out...

Riding in the B 4-Stroke class, Josh Lyons snaked his boy Eric Gilbert in the last turn for 7th place leaving Eric for 8th. You know what they say boys, it ain't over til it's over.

The first two guys in Junior B finished 5 laps in their 2 hour time limit AND finished in front of the 2nd place guy in Junior A. Time for a promotion...

Super Vintage B had one of the largest turn outs Saturday with 24 riders. The first 4 guys came in within seconds of each other with Shelby Dunson grabbing the 1st place wood. I wonder how those old bikes held up in the sugar sand...

What's Not

Well...I can say that you only gain experience from experiencing it. With 20 riders in the Women Quad class, and me never having riding anything with more than 2 wheels since I was 6...the race strategy is a lot different, you don't fall off you fall under. Next time for me, it won't be the line that looks SHORTER, but the one that looks WIDER.
