What's Hot

Almost 100 quad riders on Saturday with new classes added, including the Golden Girls and Quad C - 2 stroke and 4 stroke classes.

David Tripp #40 is still haulin' in the Junior A class winning by 2 minutes to Jason Gillespie #141, and Josh Gilliam #118 in 3rd. Hey Josh, after that goof in the field, I bet you didn't think you'd get a round of applause.

April Hodges #117 had about 10 seconds on Debbie Broderick #9 during the 1st lap, then April gassed up on the 2nd lap, and Debbie passed her. But come around on the 3rd lap, Vicki Wilcox #7 wins it by less than 2 minutes to Casey Campbell #384. April stopped, and ended up finishing 4th behind Holly Jones #29. Debbie pulled off for her daughter Samantha Broderick #31 who was down. Hope your okay, Sam.

It doesn't happen every race that 3 of the top 5 guys in the 12 o'clock race aren't even in the AA class, and they start a minute behind the leaders. It was Garrett Edmisten #217 who ended up winning from the start, with Jaco Wolmarans # 26 about 5 minutes behind him in A250.

Jonny Simpkins #91, looked like he was in cruise control in Senior A, winning by less than a minute to Robin Frey #2. Both of these guys were averaging faster lap times than almost ALL the 12 o'clock riders. Well, except for Garrett.

Clayton Lyons was rippin' it in A200 winning by 6 minutes leaving Brian Martin #201 and Bill Jones #4 for dead in 2nd and 3rd.

What's Not

45 riders signed up for Vet C on Sunday.

It's quite a laugh to watch the Junior riders in such a hurry to get through the chicane, even though everyone knows the rule about, "No Passing." I watched this one, come in behind a couple of older riders, and boy, you could hear him from a mile away. Then once he got scanned, he took off and smacked right into a tree. You got to slow down to go fast buddy.

If it was a snake it would have bit him; Ricky Skaggs #12 literally snaked Jonny Simpkins #41 for the win right before the finish on Saturday in the Super Vintage class. Jonny was there right behind him, his only remark was, "He must have gotten a copy of my playbook on passing moves. I love that kind of racing, it was just hard, clean, racing." Gotta love it.

*Note: The scoring chicane must be getting awfully HOT these days, as this writer had an awfully hard time getting the scoop on the riders. Next time I'll find a chill place to sit.
