Letter from an FTR member
My name is Mike Splinter. My son, Justin, and I have been members in FTR for
the two seasons. I have had an experience the last race, MIMS, that I would
like to share with my fellow members of FTR.

I was on the starting line like the rest of the riders warming up my Kaw. KDX
200 1993. Every line that took off we cranked the motorcycles to get ready
for our line to speed away. 4 rows in front I kicked the bike and it spitted
and sputtered and fowled a plug. Oh no what now, upset I said a couple of
words I shouldn't have. I guess I would have to push it off the side and wait
till next time. My son went to our site to get a plug in most haste.

All of a sudden the fellows in my class, Sen C came to my rescue. 3 to 4
people pulled out plugs from there possession and said here is a plug. Before
I knew it one guy was unscrewing my plug from my bike. I was amazed what did
I do to deserve this. What a bunch of great guys. In all the hustle bustle of
starting a race they took the time to help me out. wow!!!!!

I wanted to say thanks for all of the guys who helped me out. I never had so
much gratitude for those guys. Of course I said thanks and they were glad to
help a fellow FTR member. I wish I could have remembered all of the names.
Me and my son have had nothing but real good times and have been surrounded
by good people. I can't say enough for the FTR riders and the FTR club as a
whole.

I hope that you could share this story on our FTR web site. I think that this
has been the most fun in my mid life of 41.  Thanks again for the wonderful
time I have had and please say thanks to my fellow riders. I will always
remember this time and I will for sure help any FTR rider when in need. I did
learn that day to carry extra plugs in my possession.

I believe that racing to win is a good thing but I believe that having fun is
the most important thing. Talk to your fellow members and be happy.
I can't say enough.

Many Thanks
Mike Splinter
