The ISDE Trophy Team is headed to Finland and could use some help representing the U.S.. The riders are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Bo Bobbitt is helping them handle donations. If you can help, call him or me.
Team Members:
Destry Abbott, Kurt Caselli, Russell Bobbitt, Jimmy Jarrett, Nate Kanney and Kyle Summers.
Thanks for the consideration and support.
Any donation over $250.00 will receive a team signed jersey.

James, no I have to wait a few more days to see if its available. Hey James, and anyone else who wants to donate any cash my way. I am accepting cash donations for this year's Enduro series. I am available for photos as well. Any person or company that donates $250.00 or more will receive a firm handshake and an autographed mug shot. I will also share some really cool war stories with you, and give you one on one instruction on how to fire a rifle and hit your target every time!! Remember this, I have to pay my own way to and from all the races AND repair my 2006 dirt bike. So any money, debit or gas cards will come in handy. Thanks again for ya'lls support. OH yea, tires for my van are also needed.eexbikeeexbikeeexbike

Didn't think it was that funny. It's one thing if their racing for their own gain, it's another when they are representing the USA.

Robert,
These guys don't make what you think. As with many jobs pay was higher a few years ago but they've felt the crunch too. FTR and SETRA have supported the ISDE events in years past. Many FTR members have already pledge to help. We'd all like to think that our sport has high cash rewards for the pro's, unfortunately that's not reality. So we'd appreciate your help, cash or check?

Yea, yea,yea Brooks, and i bet their racing some old piece of junk bike, just like mine! Are you tellin me that they have no support from any bike companies? No free recluse, steering stabilizers, gear, boots, goggles and what ever else they need to be competitive. Who is paying for their bikes to get there? You? Or the factory. How bout when they get there, I bet their not sitting in the sun under a 10 X 10 wall mart pop up or sleeping on an air mattress at nite. I would bet they have it pretty easy over there. Probably in a nice motor home or camper maybe a rig filled with all the goodies. I could care less what they are making or what their not making in terms of money, but I refuse to believe that they are roughing it in the elements. If SETRA and FTR want to support them thats fine. If you want to support them its fine too, but don't give me any mumbo jumbo that their hurting. If they truly love what they do, and i'm sure they do, they will find a way to do it from people just like you.
Troy, are you questioning my loyalty to the Stars and Bars? Do you think my comments have anything to do with who they represent? NO. I think its laugh out loud funny that the pros are asking for cash to go racing on the other side of the world. Just like you think its funny that I am accepting cash for the Enduro series.
Of course I would love to send 250 bucks to someone who is representing the greatest country in the world, but a pro rider.rof1rof1rof1rof1 and if ya'll can't hear that... then i will say it again rof1
I mean no disrespect fellas... but thats how I feel about it.

The ONLY support the U.S.A ISDE Trophy Team receives is the prepped race bike, and whatever gear, etc they normally receive from their sponsors. They must cover all of their other expenses out of pocket. This includes travel, food, lodging. etc. For those expenses they rely on donations. This is one reason why that for as long as I can remember, the AMA sells ISDE T-Shirts to help support the team. Brooks never said that the team members were crying the poor mouth, but it is a huge expense for the team to travel to Finland and represent the U.S.A.'s off road elite.
The Apollo Motorcycle Club has supported this effort in the past, and I am pretty sure will continue to do so in the future.
If you are considering making a donation. please don't let one guy's sour attitude sway your opinion.

Hey Sam, you can call me sour, I can call it funny! Thats my opinion. Its not an attitude thing either. I have only one attitude, maybe if you knew me you would see through the fog and realize its all good. Yea...ALL GOOD!! All the time!! popc

Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were just attempting to be funny. Like you said, I guess that's because I don't know you and your sense of humor. I think the fog has lifted. I think I get it now! Hahaahahah.rof1rof1rof1

I'd just ask you to re-read your post as someone other than the author and ask yourself if you helped or hurt the U.S. ISDE team.

Brooks, My post was not ment to hurt or help the pro guys that were selected to the team. I was stating my view. Thats what this forum is all about ..right? Like it or not that is my opinion. You and everyone else can give $ to anyone you choose. That means we are FREE! Free to do whatever we want within the law. Also say what we want to, whenever we want to. Brooks, Please give as much as you can, you can even take out a loan or re mortgage your house for all I care. I would love to see our guys kick the chiz out of all the other countries. I just can't see giving them money out of my pocket when they are professional dirt bike riders.
Remember Brooks, if it weren't for people like you and I, Giving our opinions, this site would not exist. I appreciate your efforts to help these guys. I choose not to. Does that matter? I don't think so.

So...using this logic, the Armed Forces are paid professionals and are furnished everything they need, so I shouldn't donate to the USO????
I've been supporting the ISDE team since it was called the ISDT.

Thanks for the info Brooks. Most people don't realize how big of an expense it is to be well prepared for an event like that. I would guess it costs around $10,000 per racer to compete effectively. At 18 racers, that's $180,000. That is a hard check to stroke for anyone. It is a tremendous honor to be selected for one of the teams, so I would hope the selection process is based soley on the rider's abilities and not the depth of their pocketbook since our national honor is at stake. With absolutely no disrespect meant toward legends like Pastrana, I am sick and tired of being part of the country known for the most backflips.

Larry pulls the perfect arrow from the quiver and stops the madness with one shot. I think Morgan and Morgan wants you on their team. Grisham will write about you one day. You may get your own week on the Discovery channel....
Stay smooth my friend.
This post has motivated Janie and I to absolutely write a check to the ISDE team. For the local opposition, we donate a tearoff.
A sincere thanks and respect to our armed forces .

Pretty cool scene, talked with Caselli, Kanney and Jarrett after the finish. Caselli by far the friendliest to talk to, but heck after riding for 8 hours not so sure how talkative I'd be! Watched the special tests and could tell the first few guys were a bit faster, but most rode it quite well.
Watching them service the bikes at the end was as impressive. They all changed 2 tires and misc work in 15 mins was cool. No help but someone to hand them tools.
Overall pretty cool to see, got a few good pics I will try to post later.

They have some pretty good coverage on YouTube. Ignition3 is the posters name. Also there is some cool helmet camera stuff up too. That section of rocks and roots from day 1 or 2 was gnarly.

Just in case anyone still has doubt as to whether the support is valued or neccessary, I sent a modest check, about enough to cover one of our enduro entries, and expected that to be the end of it.
I was suprised to recieve a hand written note from Russell Bobbitt filled with appreciation for the support. They finished third. Pretty cool.

Truly a class act by you Tom and Russell for taking the time to send a nice note.
Russell may be a pro but I can assure he is NOT getting rich in this sport. It is not Super Cross.
