Hey all,
I am helping a neighbor fix up an old 97 Honda XR100 for his stepson and the tires that came on it are slick. I was hoping someone had some decent rideable takeoffs they would donate to the project or sell cheap so we can get the kid going. He is a real solid kid and we are hoping to have it ready for him when he gets back around in a couple of weeks. The sizes are 3.00 x 16 and 2.50 X 19. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks you can call me at 813-394-5730. I am in the Riverview/Tampa Area. Tom

I might have some. Send a text in evening to remind me.
I just gave away a new rear sprocket for XR100, but might be able to get it back if you need.

Yeah Ian, I hooked up my neighbor with the bike and we have been working to get it all cleaned up and running good for his stepson. We pulled the motor apart and found that the cam had broken off a 180 degree chunk of the thrust face, and the chain was slapping to beat the band (broken adjuster spring on the cam chain guides). The piston may have been installed backwards as well, as there were marks on the piston from the valves. We found a nearly complete XR100 on Craigslist fro $100 that had a good bottom end, a nice seat, and tank and some other stuff we needed so we really only had to tear it down and repaint, besides the normal wheel bearings, head stock bearings and stuff. It looks really nice and should run great once we get it done. Thanks for the good deal on it. Jordan is going to be psyched. His real dad and his buddies trashed the bike he had up north and then kept promising to get it shipped down here, but it was clear that wasn't going to happen...
Much thanks to my Buddy Angel Mendez for hooking us up with the tires. Angel is the man. Thanks to everyone else that offered up parts. I think we have most of it covered now. I'll post some pix when we get it done. Ian, if you can send the pix that you posted on CL , I'll have some good before and after shots. I am pretty excited for the kid. He really is a good kid, Very polite and down to earth. I'm going to see if we can get him out to some FTR events this year with his stepdad. ![]()

Thanks Angel. We got the bike running over the weekend and the motor sounds strong. If the tires get here today ,we should have it ready for a test ride. Thanks again. Jordan is really excited.

Well Once again I am amazed by the kind of awesome people we have here in FTR. I got home today to find two brand new tires delivered straight from Rocky mountain ATV courtesy of Angel Mendez. I and Jordan and his Dad Shane Can't thank you enough for your generosity, Angel. That is really a great gesture and is greatly appreciated. I got them all mounted up tonight for them and we just have a couple of more final details and the bike will be done. I will post some pix in the next day or so. Jordan should be tearing up the trails by Friday at the latest.
Thanks for the pix too Ian and for passing on a good deal on the bike. I think this is going to be a great vehicle to get Jordan focused on riding and on understanding how working hard in school and out in the world pays off in rewards. Maybe we'll even get him out on the track this year... ![]() ![]()
