Default Best Track Awards

Last year the Voting and Presentation of Best Track seemed to be overlooked. Can we Remedy that! and be sure not to miss it again this year!

Darlene is aware of that and she is making sure it doesn't happen this banquet.

"Best Track" is like voting for high school class president . . . . .

The last time I voted for Event of the Year half the event was on fire roads, the club used a minimum amount of arrows and one check was thrown out. Not a quality event.

I suggest a recommendation process to the Chairman (Enduro / Hare Scrambles) who appoints 2 members to form a 3 member committee (none can be from same club). Appeals (emails) are made to the Chairman why that event should be EOTY, which then becomes a 3 member vote. Deadline is x weeks before the banquet.

This takes the "my club is bigger than your club", club members that live close to the banquet venue (more likely to show up at a banquet), "I got buddies in that club" and other popularity voting out of the mix. Actual logical decision making can occur. What a concept!

My 2c,
- c bob

This is my post from FTR Face book.

Why do we even do this at all. Every club puts in as much as they can with what they have to work with. One year they tried voting on it at the general membership meeting thinking that would get people to come to the meeting. My club had about six members there and the other clubs only had a most two. Each club voted for themselves and since we had more members there than anyone we controlled the vote. This is a waste of time and in some cases causes hard feeling. Just reread the post above this one.

I like them all, and it is usually the ones later in the season that stick in my mind. I did thoroughly enjoy the Treasure Coast track this year though.
