Default KTM 300 XCW(e) Spark Arrestor/Silencer

I'm thinking seriously about buying a 2008 KTM 300 XCW(e) and was wondering what recommendations anyone might have on a spark arrestor/silencer for the bike. I don't know what the cost is for a KTM spark arrestor, but I was looking at the FMF "Q" and FMF claims it will drop the sound down to 93 - 96 db and improve power over the stock silencer.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go?

Thanks,

We are using the FMF Turbine Core II and like them very well. It's the same as the KTM Hardparts one. They are quiet, but if you want just a little more quiet the Q would be good!

I have the Pro Circuit 296 on my 08 300 xc-w. Good fit and quiet. Not sure about the db numbers but, about the same as the FMF Q on a friends 08 250 xc-w.

I don't think you will go wrong with either model. Hope this helps.

I got a stupid question, don't the off-road specific models come with a USFS exhaust? I thought, XC's and EXC's and the Honda X's and Yami WR's and such came with those types of exhausts.

As of 2006 KTM quit putting spark arrestors on the 2 stroke offroad bikes. It supposedly has something to do with the EPA's regulations on 2 strokes. I think they can only import them as "Closed Course" competition bikes so the EPA won't let them put SA's on. That may not be exactly right, but it's the general idea.

Then why are the exhaust lengths different from XC's toXC-W's? I noticed that when looking at pics of the '08 bikes. Strange. The XC-W's have much longer silencers.
