The Florida Recreational Trails Program is currently seeking nominations for the Advisory Board. Members will serve one to two years.

Specifically, the Advisory Committee is charged with the following:

1. Represent both motorized and nonmotorized recreational trail users.
2. Provide guidance to the State for the management of the Recreational Trails Grant Program, such as:
   1. Specifically, to participate in the annual application review and development of the RTP Priority List.
   2. Review application procedures and update as needed to include maximum funding per category.
   3. Assist with the interpretation of federal RTP regulations to provide guidance on the state level.
3. Nominate trail projects for national trail awards, as appropriate.
4. Assist the State in regional and state trail planning efforts and other trail policy issues.

Time requirements involve approximately 2-1/2 days travel or 1-day electronic attendance, once a year in February or March, to review grant applications. And, 1-1/2 days travel or 1/2 day electronic attendance, once a year in the fall/winter to review application procedures and update as needed to include maximum funding per category. Additional time to prepare for meetings is required. RTP reimburses travel expenses.
