Motocross Committee Meeting Minutes
Ocala, FL May 15, 2004

Meeting called to order at 6:07 P.M.

In attendance

Jim Edgar - Chairman

There were no minutes from the previous meeting.
No reports by Officers.

Unfinished Business:

Proposal from FTR member David Hall was revisited from the meeting at Hilliard. The proposal is a follows: Nerf bars with nets are needed to prevent wheel or any other part of a fellow competitorís quad from hitting the rider. This also prevents the wheel from coming in contact causing a quad to flip. The nets keep a riderís foot from getting caught under the quad or in another riderís wheel.

Chapter IX Motocross Rules Section C Event Rules Paragraph 4 add line: G. Quads are to have nerf bars with nets to compete.

A motion was made to accept the proposal as written. Seconded. 6 in favor 0 opposed motion passed

New Business:

A proposal from member Jim Edgar to add a juvenile womenís class 65-105cc 9-12. Proposed Rule: Page 8 Chapter III Section C Paragraph 1 under Motocross: Insert: Women 65-105cc 9-12.
Page 10 Chapter II Section J Number 6 Equipment: Insert: Women 65-105CC 9-12 Page 24 Chapter XII Motocross Championship Series: Insert: Women 65-105cc 9-12

A motion was made to accept the proposal as written. Seconded. 6 in favor 0 opposed motion passed.

A proposal from member Jim Edgar to add that the winner of all B and C classifications be promoted to the next higher classification. Proposed Rule: Page 23 Chapter X Section C Paragraph 2 under Advancement Point System: Insert: Note 2: add after current paragraph ≠ Riders that compete in ìBî or ìCî classes and win their class will be promoted at the start of the next competition season.

A motion was made to accept the proposal as written. Seconded. 0 in favor 5 opposed, motion failed.

A proposal from member Jim Edgar to allow Motocross and Hare Scramble to race on the same weekends. Proposed Rule: Page 21/22 Chapter IX Section A Paragraph 8. Delete: Paragraph 8 which states: ìThere will be no FTR Hare Scramble and FTR Motocross events scheduled on the same dates. FTR Enduros and FTR Motocross may run on the same datesî.

A motion was made to accept the proposal as written. Seconded. 0 in favor 6 opposed, motion failed.

A proposal from member Jim Edgar to not allow riders in the 35+ ìCî class to race another class. Proposed Rule: Page 7/8 Chapter III Section C Pargraph 1 under Motocross Insert: Note 4 beside +35C and below Note 3: ìnote 4: 35 + ìCî riders may only ride this class and no other motocross class. Riders in the 35 + ìCî cannot take any points with them if they move their self to other class. 35 + ìCî riders may be promoted to another Adult age class prior to the half way point of the seasonî.

A motion was made to accept the proposal as written. Seconded. 6 in favor 0 opposed motion passed.

A proposal from member Jim Edgar was presented to change the overall classes for FTR Motocross. Proposed Rule:
