FTR Motocross Committee Meeting

November 12, 2005

Old Business

1. Rule change for Chapter III Section C. Rider Classification, Paragraph Motocross, Change 85 12-15, and 79cc to 85cc 12 thru 15. TO: 85 12-13 79cc to 85cc, and 85 14-15 79cc to 85cc 14 thru 15. Chapter III, Section J - Competition Apparel & Equipment Paragraph 6. Equipment -Change 79cc to 85 cc 85 Mini 12 - 15, 7-11 to 79cc to 85cc 85 Mini 7-11, 12-13, 14-15. Chapter XII, Motocross Championship Series Classes - Change 85cc Mini 12-15 to 85 Mini 12-13 and add 85 Mini 14 -15. This rule proposal has past vote, printed in magazine (October) and was voted unanimously a second time at this meeting.

2. Rule change proposal tabled at Bartow - Chapter III General Rules, Section J., Competition Apparel & Equipment, Line 7 Motocross 98db(a). Change Line 7 to Motocross 102db(a). After further discussion a motion was made to accept, seconded, and passed unanimously.

New Business

1. Proposal submitted by Larry Kuhn, presented by David Hall to add the 86cc to 250cc Four-stroke to the Youth 13-15 class due to what appears to be a change in the 125cc two-stroke availability in the future. The rule to be changed is Chapter III General Rules, C. Rider Classification, Line Youth 13 -15 86cc to 125cc 13 thru 15. Change to Youth 13 -15 86cc - 125cc 2 stroke / 86cc -250cc 4 stroke 13 thru 15. Also rule Chapter III General Rules, J. Competition Apparel & Equipment. Line - 86cc - 125cc Youth 13 - 15. Change To -86cc - 125 cc 2 stroke / 86 cc 250 cc to 4 stroke Youth 13 - 15. After some discussion the committee was unsure if an 86cc 4 stroke is the equivalent of an 85cc 2 stroke . A motion was made and seconded, to table this proposal until more information can be gathered. The motion was voted unanimously .

2. Proposal submitted by Brett Jones to add to rule book a written qualifying procedure .

Chapter X, Section A, Paragraph 2 Motocross Scoring. Insert - If there are more riders than can be accommodated on a starting line the following program will be implemented: Riders are broken in to two groups by random order via the hosting tracks computer. The two resulting Qualifiers and Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) will be run during the first round of Motos (example -40 man gate and more than 40 bikes sign-up, two qualifiers where 16 riders from each qualifier plus 8 riders from LCQ go to 2nd Moto for overall score. Note the rider that placed 9th in the LCQ will be awarded 41st points for overall and so forth. If more than 20 Quads sign-up for a 40 man gate, two qualifiers will be run, where 8 riders from each qualifier and 4 riders from LCQ will go to 2nd moto for overall score. Note the rider that finishes 5th in the LCQ will be awarded 21st points for overall and so forth. The number of laps for the qualifiers will be the same as the laps scheduled for the race day, except for the LCQ. It will have 2 laps. After some discussion a motion to accept this proposal was made and was seconded. After a vote of 6-1 the motion passed.
